Hello, a year or two I changed my business name in hopes that Google would shine favorably on my site but.... Google isn't very friendly without paying them to get top ten rating. Well, I am just a self employed artist that believes that: "If a man puts his heart into something, he should be able to sell it and feed his family." The images displayed on my site are examples of what I've made and do create, one at a time. My art is just that "One of a kind," made one at a time by a retired American that is trying to provide a product that houses birds, makes music with the wind, and points the way to your home or business.
The rustic wooden bird houses on my site are made from vintage barn wood, that has been salvaged from the barns that didn't survive last winter's snowfall. Each custom, wooden bird house takes over 5 hours to create' and after I get done sanding them and adding small stick windows, they are a site to see. Perfect for a centerpiece in any garden or patio setting. The Bird houses are functional and are suited for many of the song birds that live in the woodlands of America. From the carolina wren to the Bluebird, the entrance holes are sized 1 1/4". The stick windows are aged to give each bird house that "Look" that is my signature. From the crooked chimney to the copper roof piece, each of my bird houses are meant to be used and used , year after year. The crooked doors and windows lend a whimsy personality, there is no 2 alike !The entrance holes are sorrounded by a piece of copper to keep the less desirable squirrels from gaining entry. This doesn't seem to bother the birds. All my avian creations are sealed with linseed oil. It assures a good protection that will last a few years. Re-coating with linseed every few years is to assure many more years of service.
All my wind chimes start out as vintage antiques, consisting of everything and anything that is old or has the "what the ???" effect when I find it. My chimes are all about recycling and thinking outside the box. Not only are my chimes are crowd pleasers, they are also great gifts for the hard to buy for. The tone of each chime is mellow and each wind chime has a unique character in itself. Perfect for the ecclectic friend or relative !
The Custom Wooden signs pictured are actual signs I've made over the years for folks around the country. Each sign is a truly "One of a Kind," each having fulfilled a personal purpose from an address sign to a fraternal order sign, made with your needs in mind. The wood I create each sign depends on the specific application it will serve. My decorative and personal signs are often made on various antiques I find that fit the bill. Each sign is sealed with linseed oil, and all paints are oil based for longevity. I like to use either weathered barn wood or from a deciduous pine, called "larch." I have used this wood for years on my outside projects and have found it to resist decay as well as being very stable. My wind chime warranty is this: if the string breaks, just email me and I'll send out new line and crimps along with a brief instruction to do the repair yourself. It is very easy and all you'll need is a pair of needle nosed pliers.
I've been making antique based wind chime since 1997. My repeat customers haven't had any problems with them as far as I know. The ones I have hanging around my house, in all weather, 24-7. I make them to last ! My wind chimes are tied with 25 lb test line and the bodies, if wood, are coated with linseed oil. If you buy 10 or more, my prices are a bit better than the individual price/ chime. The chimes shown on my web site are in stock. Since my chimes are uniquely, "one of a kind," I don't showcae them all. So, if there's something you collect or that someone collects, and you don't see it on my site, just ask.... most likely I have one in stock. America used to manufacture a variety of odds and ends back in the heyday of our industrial era... the variety within each "type" is quite fascinating ! I make rustic, personalized wooden signs, wind chimes from antiques,and custom wooden signs. The custom, rustic, barn wood bird houses are made from hemlock barn wood and will outlast any bird house you might find elsewhere. As far as maintenance, I recommend linseed oil every other year. Wood loves to be oiled and by doing so it keeps the grain able to take future coating.
The antique based, wind chimes are hand made by me. I make them from just about anything old, odd, or funky. I take found objects, anything with the age and "look," and re-purpose them into the art you see on my pages.
