The weather has been very mild so far this spring and we are fretting every night the temps go near freezing. Our fruit trees had a full bloom on but my bees were still gathering their wits, when this warm weather came a month early ! We have been weeding all the flower and food gardens, getting a jump on it all before the bugs and hot weather make working the gardens nearly impossible. We are living about as close to the Earth as possible. We aren't taking anything for granted weather wise since it turns in a NY minute !
My business is all about recycling, I take found objects, and unique lookings things that I buy at auctions, antique malls, other vendors etc... I buy, bottles, plates, old coffee pots, pans, you name it! Then I make bird houses and wind chimes. Basically, anything can become a wind chime "body," that's why they're so... cool!
Interesting looking pieces of metal, tin etc...becomes my Metal garden sculptures.
Distressed wood gets me thinking about picture frames, wooden memory boxes, and bird houses! It's a beautiful thing making art from the contents of "Granny's" kitchen !
We have a self sufficient organic farm in western, NYS. We took a distressed, 1872 farm house, gutted it, rebuilt the inside, and now we have our piece of "Heaven on Earth." After 20 years of trials and tribulations, we are now finishing off the "out" buildings, interiors. Winters are always too long, but we keep busy creating new items, while planning our spring plantings. Just as "rust never sleeps in NY," We never stop creating either! It's all about the "journey!"
Kathy and I have a good life, we eat what we grow and store the rest away. Our foot print is big enough, but hopefully, our trees, plants, landscaping, gardens etc...will help make up for it. We try to live by the saying "Waste not, want not." It's not as easy as it sounds. If you want to know something, just asK. As to "How" we did it?" Well, it was all God Amen! So...begin living the "good life,"get out there and put in a Victory garden, and take a step back, from the edge!

"Life is a Journey best taken in the company of others, so that you can laugh at where you have been!"
Please pass my site on to your family and friends. I'm told my wind chimes, my Bird houses, and my custom wooden signs, make great gifts for those that: have everything, need nothing, and are hard to buy for.
Take a look and see !
Sincerely, Willie
Be sure to take a look at Kathy's hand made quilts. The hand made wall hangings is becoming the palette size for the fabric picture art she's working on. The custom, rustic, fully functional bird houses are "One of a Kind." New this year are my metal garden sculptures My "guy's" as I call them, are plasma cut from metal and old farm equipment that is cut and then welded together again. They weigh in excess of 75 pounds, with a stature of around 4' tall. The water colored pet portraits are expertly rendered. The artist has her way of capturing your pets personality ! The personalized wooden signs can either be routed into the sign's back board or have raised lettering. Both styles of lettering make great signs, one is cheaper and the raised lettering is more time consuming and thusly, more money.
